Old School Mondays

I'm gonna take it different levels of OLD SCHOOL...

The 1st crew that got signed for a Mil, and a 10 album deal on Geffen. (94) fact...

Another one of my favs from the Roots.

Dancehall style..

Even though this is not too old, look at all the videos clips from old BBC vids. E.O.S. was always present at all the videos shoots.

Taken it back to my Latinos..

BLACKOUT MUSIC

This edition of BLACKOUT MUSIC takes us across the mighty Atlantic to the green hills of Ireland. The hidden treasure here are The Republic Of Loose. Happening upon their first release "This Is The Tomb Of The Juice" in the Import section of Virgin in 2004. I have been listening to this band with complete and utter awe ever since. Their sophomore release "Aaagh" is the type of record that is so far ahead of the curve, that most people don't even know that the road exists. That is what attracts me most to these guys. They are truly on their own shit. Be that as it may, their sound is becoming more and more universal. The best example of that would have to be their super funky dopalicious banger "Comeback Girl". With it's soulful melody and lyrics that are every bit as witty as the catalog of Seifeld, this is the stuff that legends are made of. Currently in town promoting their latest and maybe greatest effort "Vol IV Johnny Pyro and the Dance of Evil" you can still catch them at S.O.B's, Mercury Lounge and Knitting Factory. I tell you this. Get your tickets in advance and be prepared to dance. Without further ado, LOOSE!!!LOOSE!!!LOOSE!!!LOOSE!!!LOOSE!!!LOOSE!!!LOOSE!!!LOOSE!!!LOOSE!!!
