Blackbook Session

Sometimes I stop and think to myself, what am I doing right now?? I enjoy drawing and painting and at times some of my own crew says things to me like, "wish I had as much time to waste as you do" but I stop and laugh. The silly things we enjoy to do I say do them to the fullest. Those are the things that keep up young at heart. We can always make time to do things that bring ourselves a sense of happiness and well being.

Since I did "waste time" as it was put to me I've decided to make another video of a black book session until I am ready to go and paint. This is inspired by Street Fight aka Coonskin which is an animated classic by Ralph Bakshi who has done, Fire & Ice, American Pop, Lord of the Rings and Felix the Cat just to name a few. He's been a huge inspiration to me since I was a little snot nosed kid drawing and chasing after big brother. You can check more by clicking here.

Barnstormers in NYC

The other night West hit me up and asked if I knew about the show that was taking place. To my surprise I didn't especially since I just spoke to Bluster and he forgot to mention it to me (Thanks Blust!!!!). I was definitely eager to go and support the crew so when we showed up it was a really good turn out. Made our way to the 3rd floor and worked our way down. Got to reconnect with heads I haven't seen since the early 90's which was really dope. Take a few moments and go check out the show at the Joshua Liner Gallery.

Here are a few pics from the show. There are some really good pieces I didn't get a chance to shoot but you get the idea.

Bluster's Birthday Bash Bang Out

Black cat is bad luck, bad guys where black, must've been a white guy who started all that....©3rd Bass. For Bluster's 40th rain nor nor'easter kept it from being a great turn out. It fell nothing short of good vibes. Faces I haven't seen for a minute showed up. Here are a few pics from that night.

Black Book Session

Just trying to be patient and waiting for nice weather to come around to get busy. Recently we've all been pushing each other to do black books and just keep our minds active during the winter season. Also due to being snowed in a recent black book session was canceled. Here's a quick video for your viewing pleasure.

Black Book Session

The weekend that just past was a dope black book session Gets threw. Unfortunately for me it was the end of the month which meant a time for people to move. My frustration was due to their lack of consideration since these people decided to park their moving van blocking my driveway for hours. I mean seriously, people have lives and on top of that my wife is due to give birth anytime now. That would've made me lose my mind. Trying to get that sucker towed was also another mission especially since towing companies won't tow a vehicle unless the cops gave it a ticket. Yeah well at least the fellas documented that night so here's a snippet from that night.

Black Book Sessions, In The Back Cave with Dontay TC5

I'm a bit late pulling the trigger on this one. Last weekend Sye, Dontay and myself had a black book session at Dontay's crib. We had jokes the whole time there. I would say during these cold winter days this helps keep us within the right state of mind when it comes to pieces as well as being an outlet for us to get together and just build. Here are a few pics from the session but believe me when I tell you this, Dontay is a beast when it comes to this. He is able to do pages so effortlessly that it make me cringe. Watching him and Serve FBA get busy, dear lord Dash calls likes to call him "rain man" because he does it in a state of like unawareness. Like no thought just coomes with the most ease. I seen Serve nearly complete half a black book within a couple of weeks. This is truly an art form that is under appreciated and like all else, practice makes perfect!!

Yes Japenese Denim with Crogs...Dontay is always stylin'...WTF????

The operating kit. Special tools of the trade do detail to characters.

Aside from Dontay being able to burn on walls and in books he can burn for real...he hooked us up with the grub!!
Quick Pic of him doing his thing. Here's also a video SyeTC5 put together. For more check out TCFive.com

Now & Then

I just got this pic. I was asked to be a part but couldn't fit in the time to go and even though I ain't a part of this wall it is still official FC tissue and wanted to rep the crew. I also have been cleaning a few things out and came across some old pics and wanted to share them with you.

First Class Marvels - DanOne, Risk, Serge, Serve, Nasty Neo & Aim4.

This is an actual sculpted and tooled figure that I was supposed have came out with back while I was living in SD. It came from a character I did on The Evil Kills wall. The company in Hong Kong at the time was going through some issues so the timing was never right.

This is a progress shot of the wall going back around 91-92 I believe. This was at 137th Street park. This is a Jabstract production in action.
Unfortunately I don't have the full wall connection but the line is Dos, Camp, Jabs and Vins. Total different ball game back then. I'm even in the pic doing some work.
